Ok, some of my readers and those who are finding this for the first time are going to either not have heard of Blink Nation, or have been on email lists where the discussion of spam and the like is being held. Well, first off, let me just say that, despite what you may have heard, Blink Nation is still a great site. what is it you ask? It's a social networking site, like Myspace or Facebook, only it's geared toward blind/visually impaired ppl. I'm on it, and a number of my other friends are as well. It's a nice site--very clutter-free, very accessible, and very easy to use. Secondly, let me just address the "spam" issue. I've said this on at least one email list, and I want to reiterate it here for those who've come across this issue from friends, etc. basically, the story is that apparently, someone grabbed a bunch of email addresses from various email lists and just sent requests to these unsuspecting ppl. Some have tried to suggest that it's the website owner or someone official, but I'm inclined to disagree. It's a very lousy way to promote a site, and a very irresponsible one at that. It makes more sense to say that some idiot member is responsible for it. anyway, just head on over to
