And it's working beautifully, though 7 does seem to have some interesting quirks. But I think over time I'll get the hang of it. So, that's the exciting news. Hope you all are well.

So, not much to write about, except the laptop that had Vista on it will soon have 7. I dropped it off today, and now I'm freezing cold down here b/c I'm back in the basement on the XP box. Updated said computer, reinstalled thunderbird and set up Firefox the way it's supposed to be, fixed a few things in Miranda after updating that, reinstalled Winamp b/c Foobar just doesn't meet my needs really, so overall, things are working just fine now, including Qwitter, which is working beautifully. I just realized how much music I have in my collection on this system. It's only like 6 gigs, but man, that's apparently quite a lot! Can't wait to take all the data off the external drive, so I can dump all my music on there. :) Anyway, that's it with me. Nothing really new outside the laptop. Hope everyone's doing all right.

Here's the news, TCOM is on five times a week in three days! Here's the schedule with all times in EST:
There it is as it stands currently. Hope you all are well and talk to you later.

Well, transition to EST here was rather non-eventful, which is good. Not that I was expecting anything, but ya just never know. And I shoud say that
borrisinabox did a fantastic job with the show and with its archive, since all of us listeners couldn't hear part of what was going on on his end, and he finally got the message that we couldn't hear it, so he put some stuff in the archive, which I downloaded, so I didn't miss anything afterall. So, thanks for that, dude. Hoped I hadn't been annoying, but apparently, it's all good. So, that's about it that's new with me. Been getting some interesting friend requests on Facebook lately, which is pretty interesting. One of those things where you have to wonder where they come from, as far as how they find you, but then, Facebook is set up so that you have to friends with someone before you can see their profile, with few exceptions. Along with that, got some new followers on Twitter, so there you have that. Had to unprotect my tweets for a while just to gain one follower. The cool thing is that I only got one bot following me, which I promptly took care of, and shut the gate, so to speak, before they all descended on me in droves. Ok, that's about it. Hope you're all well and stuff. See ya later! :)

Ok, maybe a few days or so since I wrote last, but seems like ages ago. and I'm tired. I haven't been sleeping well the last couple nights, and I sort of broke everything Saturday morning by inadvertently sleeping in until quarter to ten, so oops to that. and then, we've got the time change coming up next week, so yay, or something. I really do want to see Daylight Saving Time shove off and die, so that'll be cool when that happens. but Daylight Saving Time should just go away permanently, in my opinion. so I'm tired, and hopefully, I'll be able to get things back on track tonight. Been tempted to take a nap all day, but have been fighting it, so we'll see how coherent I am when 11 o'clock rolls around. lol so, a friend of mine needs more listeners. She owns a station found here, and could really use some more listeners to her shows. She does a few country shows there throughout the week, but even if you're not into country like me, just tune in and give it a shot. She's a pretty cool person and so that's awesome. Anyway, hope you all are well, and let's hope nothing else breaks this week like my sleep schedule apparently has.

I need to welcome a new member to the friends list. So a big hello to
ah_1985 is in order, and so hope you enjoy the randomness around here. :) Admittedly, I don't post here as often as I probably should, but then I'm not alone. anyway, nothing much happening, just yesterday was crazy. I forgot about two shows, one here, with TCOM and one over here and straightened out one of my computer problems, so that's one down and one to go, but the other one will be sorted out soon. That's about it. Anyway, thursday was definitely bad for me, so let's hope that trend doesn't continue, otherwise I'll join the rest of certain well known individuals who would share similar experiences on said day. You all know who you are, obviously. :) Anyway hope you all are well, and I'll talk to you all later.

So this will be nice and short. Twitter apparently is having another outage-type thingy, but what else is new? so yeah, I'm annoyed as is everyone else in Twitterland right now. Twitter's been having some interesting times in the last few days with various outages occurring at just completely awesome times, like right in the middle of the day at peak periods. So yeah, there you go.

No, this isn't a test post in the sense of being spammy or something, but this si a test post in the sense that I'm using something different than the three standard "big names" of media players for the Windows platform. What am I using you ask? Here, have the answer then. So, that's what I'm using as of today for various reasons. Yes, it requires you to configure the shortcut keys but that's ok. Now that it's nice and configured and I managed to get things sorted with this, I actually feel like I'm starting a new era or something. Anyway, what I wanted to try was if it picks up what I'm listening to automatically or if that's something that's slightly broken. It found Winamp fine, but this is slightly different. Anyway, even if it doesn't, that's ok. I feel liberated, like I've shaken loose of the domination of AOL or something, since Winamp was bought by them and all that. Well, off we go to do the experiment. 3, 2, 1, ...
- Mood:Very good, thanks.

Uh, ahem! I think this is long overdue, and for that I'm sorry. I just thought I'd pop in here and let you all know that, if you're a fan of Tracy's Carnival of Music, as I am, the presenter is back broadcasting and has been for some time. So, that being said, here's the current schedule as it stands.
As you can see, somethings have changed, but this is everything as it now stands concerning TCOM. Hope you all are well.

Yes folks, I have Semagic again. and it's working perfectly on this Vista machine. So, what does this mean, I hear you ask? Well, it means that you'll see tags once again. Which will be great for a lot of reasons. I've also configured this thing to do some other stuff hopefully automatically, so that'll be cool. Hope you all are well. Talk at you all later.

Just so you all know, it's not MSSE, as I said yesterday, but it's MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials, that is). Someone asked me what all it does, and basically, it protects you again viruses, spyware, etc. It's basically like the free version of AVG and Windows Defender all rolled in to one program. So, hope that helps. Hope you all are well.

Hey folks, I posted this over on my Posterous, but not all of you read that so I'm posting this here quickly. Microsoft Security Essentials (MSSE) is finally out today, and it's free. If you want it, you can get it here and install it. It's great, and for those who care about such things, it is accessible for those of us who use assistive technology. I have mine set to do a full scan every Sunday around noon, which is a perfect time to do that. Hope you all are well.

Just a quick post to say that I really, really hate terestrial radio now! why, you ask? Well, story goes like this. A couple days ago, while I was waiting for my computer to restart, I decided to just glance through what was on ye old FM band. Well, wouldn't ya know it was the same old thing, except that a local rock/unusual music/variety station that actually was a Clear channel station but didn't actually sound like one, decided at some point fairly recently to change format to sports. Now, this is an FM station, obviously, so it made me think of what I've been saying of late--that the death of AM radio has to be close. With the heavy promotion of HD here, and the annoying prevalence of talk radio on AM, and the increasing numbers of people who actualy don't care to hear said talk radio, it's no wonder such format changes are happening. I can see it already. AM radio completely dying, having been shoved out of the way by HD replacing FM. So, basically, FM is the new AM and HD is the new FM.
For those outside of the US, allow me to explain what all this is about, just so we're clear. If you're not familiar with our terms, AM is what you would called medium wave, and HD is similar to DAB in the UK. Only differences are that we're Americans, and so we're different, and thus, we don't care to actually standardize on anything unless we have to, and that only begrudgingly.
so, I officially hate terestrial radio now for another reason. All the good stations are gone and there really isn't anything new or exciting anymore. I used to get all excited when a new station came to the air waves or changed format. It was always exciting to see how it did. But now that I primarily listen to internet radio, I find myself wondering why anyone would ever listen to crappy old-school terestrial radio when there's all this awesome variety available right at one's fingertips. I mean, all you need is an internet connection and a decent set of speakers and voila, all the music and talk and everything else all right there you'd ever want. but no, internet radio is still seen here as a novelty, being this litte-known thing that isn't going to go anywhere, but satellite is so much better! It is? Um, let's see. You have to pay for crap that no one listens to anyway, and if you live in an area where you have to drive through tunnels, well, there goes your signal. Yep, great value right there! think I'll stick to good old internet radio, thank you very much. Only cost associated with it really is for your connection. and you can listen to whatever you want pretty much. Anyway, that's my rant. Hope you all are having a good weekend or whatever.

I just found out today that last.fm is no longer free, even though it clearly says that it's "free" music or whatever at the top of the page. Um, can anyone explain that to me please? I mean, I can understand the whole thing with the music industry and licensing and all that, but it's rather counter-productive to say something's free when it actually isn't. Frankly, I'm annoyed by it greatly. I really don't know how to put into words how I feel about it, especially since I have an account over there, but do you think we can use our free accounts? Of course not! It just doesn't make any sense at all. I can't believe they'd do that. and oh btw, just so we're on the same page, the non-free stuff applies to third-party clients and stuff, but still, it just doesn't make any sense at all. Anyway, hope you all are well. I'm looking forward to a weekend. Talk to you all later.

Yep, it's been ages. Blame Twitter. lol I think most of the ppl here are on my Twitter followers list, but if you aren't, feel free to follow me. You can find my Twitter page here. So, have fun with that. I do tweet often, but sometimes, it may be a while before you hear from me, but I'm always around and do keep up with tweets as much as possible. Nothing much with me, just hanging out, so nothing huge happening. I know, I live a nice boring life, right? lol Yep, that's about it. Should really change the name of this thing, and I should also shut up and post this, so here, have this thingy. :)
Just so you all know, this blog, is now, as of yesterday, at 8:38 AM, gone. If you go to that link, it basically just says that it's been deleted, and for the record, "the authors" referred to is one author, namely myself. so, it's now gone, and if anyone wonders, they know how to get a hold of me to whine or whatever, at which point I'll just point them here. Hope you all are well. Ttyl.
Just so you guys know, my blog over here is going to go away very soon. I've decided to take it down, but don't worry! I'm starting fresh with the same thing as there, but only here. I've already started posting over there, and the cool thing about it is that it's like the best of both Blogger (in that you can email in to post, in fact, that's how you post there) and Wordpress (in that, you have to moderate comments and stuff), so I get the best of both worlds without worrying about it. If you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can log in and comment on anything, and, for those who are blind/visually impaired, there's no captcha. It's a beautiful service, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple-to-use blogging platform. I'm not sure how long I'm keeping the old one up, but I'll get around to deleting it. The reason why I'm doing it is mainly because Wordpress is clunky and hard to manage. It's one of those "Look! We have a zillion features, but we're not going to tell you anything about what they do--that's for you to figure out!" I needed an alternative to Blogger, and that was good at the time, but it's time to mve on. the old Blogger blog is still around, but it's become a spammer's paradise, and frankly, they can have at it. the Wordpress is something I can delete, and so I will. That particular chapter in my blogging life is at an end, but then again, it continues in the Posterous above. And, for those who wonder how I found out about Posterous,
webdeva gets all the credit! :) I took a look at the site, and from the moment I landed on the page and started looking around, I knew I had to be there. Just to clarify, this LJ will still be around--it's not going anywhere! I'm just talking about the Wordpress going away, something that has bugged me for some time anyway, so I've found my dream blogging home at last! Other than that, nothing really new. Just thought I'd toss this entry up. Comments anyone? :)

I can't resist saying happy birthday to
webdeva, who is approximately four months younger than me, and therefore turns the same age as me today. :) We had a rather lengthy MSN chat yesterday, and I could do it all over again. she's one of those ppl you can't resist talking to. She's just an awesome friend, and you know, I love talking with ppl like that, where I can talk about anything and we can just keep going without running out of things to say. So, what else is new with me? Not much, really. Had an absolutely horrible night's sleep the night before last, but last night, in contrast, was a little better. Six hours last night, as opposed to four the previous. Not bad. :) That's about it. Sorry about not updating for ages, but here ya go. :) Hope you all are well.
