Oh hey, should check the friends page. lol Nothing new with me, just the same old deal.

Sorry

  • Jul. 7th, 2009 at 4:50 PM
Broke the subject line onj the last entry, but just wanted to let you know that I might do a podcast ep on Pandion. It's nice to have a simple Jabber client that's so simple to use that a five-year-old could use it. Anyway, there you have it. :)

Posted using LJ Talk...

{Yay!} So, I'm giving Pandion a shot. It's a Jabber client and it's very accessible b/c it's basically a web interface-looking thing. It's pretty cool so far.

Yay!

So, just so you all know, I have LiveJournal on my laptop now. :)

Back on Jabber!

  • May. 29th, 2009 at 6:21 PM
After yesterday's post, I decided to actually give the matter some thought, thanks to [info]nick6489 Still not going to use Yahoo, due to the fact that really there's no one around on there, but Jabber's another story. I mean, two words--LJ Talk. anyway, I've officially made the switch to Miranda. deleted AIM and Windows Live completely off this machine, and, if I may, I'd like to say that really, WLM and AIM (as well as Yahoo Messenger, for that matter) are complicated, bloated, and frankly, useless pieces of crap. So, voice chatting--isn't that what Skype's for? and believe me, skype is something I can't live without, even though it's a resource hog. So why not be nice to my this trusty computer and not strain it with WLM, AIM, and everything else it's doing while running skype? Anyway, hope you all are doing well.

No longer using Yahoo Messenger or Jabber.

  • May. 28th, 2009 at 6:05 PM
For those of you who I've regularly seen on Jabber, thanks to LJ Talk, I've decided to actually stop using it, since I don't regularly use it anyway, and the same goes for Yahoo Messenger. I hardly ever look at that Yahoo mail account anymore anyway, and it's mainly one I use for spam. So, basically, I'm slimming down to just MSN and AIM. I've never had too much success with Yahoo's messenger client, even with JAWS scripts, and although Miranda's Yahoo plug-in does a lot of things, it doesn't do voice chatting--as is true of Miranda in general, MirandaCom being the exception. but, who uses Yahoo anymore? It was popular back in the 90's, but then AIM and MSN came along and there went Yahoo. Since both the aforementioned two services are the most popular, it makes sense for me just to stick with those two. so, if you don't see me on LJ Talk anymore, you know why now. No offense to anyone, of course, but it's just that, since it's not really that big a part of my day-to-day life as far as use goes, it might as well not exist at all on my system. Not really depressed or anything about it, just wanted you all to know what was up with me. comments? Send 'em my way! :)

It's been forever!

  • May. 26th, 2009 at 10:52 PM
And so, you're sitting there like "No, really?" lol Yeah, it's been quite some time since I've actually posted something in here. Should really post more, but yeah, whatever. Nothing really new with me, which mostly explains everything. Went through my MySpace messages on the personal account this morning, and dropped a few ppl a quick hi and stuff. It was good to do that. Also got some stuff fixed on my email and fixed some stuff there. So, everything seems to work fine now, so yay for that. :) anyway, off to bed with me. Night all.

Pizza.gov

  • May. 16th, 2009 at 3:14 PM
So, I wanted to post this yesterday, but I didn't. so, it's getting posted today. I had a very strange dream the night before last, involving me ordering pizza and not getting it. "Um, boring!" I hear you say. well, let me just tell you the dream as I remember it.

Here we go. I remember having ordered pizza from Pizza Hut, and then I remember going over there to pick said pizza up. So, I initially walked into the place by myself, and said the necessary things to actually get my pizza and go home to consume it. but, do you think they gave me my pizza? Not unless, (and this is where the .gov comes in), I signed this, proved that, and jumped through all these hoops just to get the darn food! At this point, my father, who I had traveled to Pizza Hut with, walked in and asked me essentially what the hold-up was, at which point, I explained to him the situation, including that I was obviously very annoyed about having to essentially prove I was capabel of eating the food inorder to get it in the first place. We then walked out, at which point I awoke, asking my self what that was all about.

I'm not in to dream interpretation all that much, but it does seem to serve as a very logical metaphor for something. what that might exactly be, I can't say. but, just thought I'd post about this, since it was rather amusing. Feel free to comment. :)

Hey, updating.

  • May. 11th, 2009 at 10:23 AM
and you all thought I was just not going to bother updating here, right? "Oh no! He's off talking about podcasts again!" Nope. No podcasting anything today, just me writing to say I'm still alive and stuff. Work, and yes, I did some podcasting, though not on mine, which is getting a revamp. But, that's all I'm going to say about the podcasts, and that's it. So, what else is new with me? Not much, apart from work. Other than that, just chilling and stuff. Anyway, hope you all are well, and I'll ttyl.

FX Radio is back! :)

  • May. 7th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
I'm so happy that FX Radio is back! :) and, what's even better is that it has a feature called the Shout-Box, which is a live phone-in thingy. I think it's a nice touch, so I owe one [info]borrisinabox a huge thank-you for bringing back the stream and making it actually better than it's ever been. the link for tuning in is right here so have a load of fun times. :)
Basically, the nutshell version is this. I decided around 6 PM EDT to take a short nap. Woke up at 7:24 PM going "Oh no's!" I discovered that the host wasn't actually anywhere to be seen on either Skype or MSN. So I waited for him to show. Well, he didn't. Not that evening, not Saturday, not Sunday. He all of a sudden shows up Monday evening, and proceeds to explain what made him not show up Friday.

So, that's what was on my end. On his, it was a very strange computer problem. He uses an Mac, but runs Windows XP. and no, this has nothing to do with Windows being a bad time or anything, so no rant there. He's a certified tech, so obviously, he went about trouble-shooting all weekend. He discovered the fans ran but nothing else. No hard drive, nothing. So, he figured it was the motherboard. He looked at said component, but no issue at all. So, he looked at the RAM. Wouldn't you know, one of the chips wasn't in correctly. so he properly disposed of said chip, popped some new RAM in, and everything worked properly. So, we sort of made up for things last Monday, and no, there was no way I could actually give anyone any advanced notice. I do apologize for that breaking last week, but there was nothing anyone could do about it, so it's all good. but that's the story about that. I figured I'd be a good person and write an explanation in here, since this is where most of my best writing ends up, or not. lol In all seriousness, though, this is the place where most of my randomness is documented, so obviously, I felt it was a good idea to post. Anyway, if you're interested in listening to any past shows, you can go right here to enjoy them. for those who might be sensitive to such things, the podcast is marked as "explicit", so you may want to not bother if you care about such things. It's not really that bad, if you can handle the host's language problem. Note I said host, and not co-host! I tend to be more professional in such situations, so no worries on my end, but watch out for him, if you're easily offended. Anyway, that's that in a nutshell. Hope you're all doing well.

[info]ezzie_j commented asking what the name of this client is, and it's simply called LiveJournal. It's in beta and is free, but I don't know where to get it. I do have the installer if you want it, though. I got it from a friend, who got it from a friend of hers, who got it from wherever they got it from. lol So there you have it.

A quick post.

  • May. 7th, 2009 at 3:45 PM
Ok, I have this new LJ client, so let's see what happens when I do the following. lol and no spam!

What's up with me lately, you ask?

  • May. 3rd, 2009 at 9:17 PM
Well, nothing much. Just so we're all clear, Friday's podcast ep didn't happen, due to a certain host not showing up. I was there, he wasn't. Also, I bought a hydration bottle--one of those with a jell stick you freeze and then you have cold water. :) Holds about 54 oz. so there you go. and I reinstalled Jawter, which got completely messed up somehow yesterday, so I uninstalled it this morning, and just now reinstalled it. It seems to be working just fine now, so we'll see if things have fun breaky times or if they actually work this time. Obviously, I'm hoping for the latter, since I've been having all kinds of Tuesday-like issues on non-Tuesday days, so we'll see. Also, I wanted to say that [info]borrisinabox did a fantastic show Saturday, and yes, why this site has issues when pulled up by IE is a mystery to me. And no, compatibility mode won't work. I'm too lazy to go find the link and post it here, but it's found here anyway, so go have fun if interested. :) That's about what's up with me lately. Nothing too exciting, I know. but it's a proper update thingy! :) Ttyl.

A brand new station!

  • May. 1st, 2009 at 10:35 AM
Yes, there's a new one on the internet. for those of you not on Twitter and following me, I just thought I'd post this. for those of you who have seen me tweeting away about this, you can skip this if you like. the station is called The global Voice, and you can tune in by going the website and tuning in there. for long-time ACBRI fans, you may be familiar with a lot of the folks staffing this new station. I have to say they're doing things right by having a loaded schedule right from the starting gate, a sponsor, good quality programming (as diverse as it could get, btw), etc. So, feel free to check that out. I'm definitely promoting this thing, since, while I'm obviously just a mere listener, those who know me know that I'm a huge internet radio fan, and I always try to find what I consider the best, and this is no exception! I do still listen to ACB Radio, but this station has got a lot going for it, and so here's to a good long time of broadcasting goodness! :)
Ok, there's the day and time, and here's the link. Let me know what you think.

An update

  • Apr. 27th, 2009 at 8:58 AM
Yes, an actual update, this time from LJ Talk. Just thought I'd write just to update you all on what's going on, which is nothing. Just work. So, that's basically it with me. :)
